The Nigerian Army has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Maiduguri, Borno state, following the attack on some parts of the state capital by Boko Haram insurgents.
The insurgents dressed in military uniform attacked the Nigerian Army, shooting sporadically in an attempt to take over the city.
Fighting had actually broke out on Wednesday evening when gun shots were heard in the city till the Wednesday night, and later on Thursday morning.
The residents had been advised to stay indoors.
