NYSC bars pregnant women, nursing mothers and PG students from national service

NYSC- The National Youth Service Corps has barred pregnant women, nursing mothers and PG-post graduate students from participating in the NYSC national service programme.

The statement was made by Brig-Gen Johnson Olawumi, the NYSC Director General. He said the people in this category will be exempted from the NYSC national service because they would not be able to undergo mobilization, orientation, primary assignment and winding –up out parade, which are the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC.

Olawumi further states that pregnant women and children will no longer be allowed into the orientation camps.
